Biography

Dr. Xin He is a Senior Research Engineer at the Department of Water Resources, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR). He also serves as one of the management team members at the Groundwater Hydraulics Committee of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research. Before his employment in China, Dr. He obtained his PhD in Hydrology and Water Resources at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and worked 5 years as a Postdoc Researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland. Dr. He's research interest is theory and modeling of groundwater circulation at catchment scale, where he is specialized in (i) distributed and integrated surface water - groundwater modeling, (ii) stochastic hydrogeological modeling using airborne geophysical data, (iii) quantitative precipitation estimation using weather radar data, and (iv) groundwater model uncertainty analysis. Dr. He has so far published 36 peer-reviewed papers in Web of Science registered journals (H-index = 14). He is also a frequent referee for journals such as Water Resources Research, Hydrology and Earth System Sciences, Journal of Hydrology, and Hydrological Sciences Journal.
